Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the area, bringing wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Damage

Locals witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. Meteorological experts announced that different parts across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Damp conditions were predicted to continue along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.

The following day was predicted as the wettest day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across multiple regions of both states.

Public health experts warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
